We are looking for a new Trustee
About
ChemoHero is seeking a new trustee to join our board who can help guide the charity as we continue to support people facing cancer treatment and continue the legacy of our founder, Lisa Wallis.
ChemoHero was founded in North Devon in 2014 after Lisa was diagnosed with cancer. Her idea was simple. To give people starting treatment a Box of Kindness filled with practical items and thoughtful comforts to help them through a difficult time. Since then ChemoHero has supported thousands of people beginning treatment through its Boxes of Kindness, Kindness Bags, Treat Trolley and counselling support.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with a financial background who can contribute to the financial oversight and long term sustainability of the charity.
As a trustee you will help oversee the governance of the charity and support its continued development. Trustees work alongside the Operation Manager and volunteers to ensure ChemoHero remains financially responsible, well governed and focused on delivering meaningful support to the people who need it.
The trustee team meets monthly to review the charity’s activities, finances and future plans.
As ChemoHero is a small charity, trustees often take a more proactive role and help support events and fundraising activities throughout the year.
This is a voluntary role.
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience in finance, accounting or financial management
• Can provide oversight and guidance on financial matters
• Supports the mission and values of ChemoHero
• Can attend monthly trustee meetings and contribute to strategic decisions
Previous experience as a trustee is not required. We welcome expressions of interest from people of all ages and backgrounds.
If you are interested in becoming a trustee we would love to hear from you.
Please email an expression of interest explaining why you would like to become a trustee for ChemoHero and outlining any relevant experience.
