ChemoHero and Coronavirus (COVID-19)

We at ChemoHero have taken the difficult decision to cancel all box packing sessions and ChemoHero fundraising events until further notice.

Going forward the boxes will be packed by the Charity Trustees and four selected pre-screened individuals who will have to follow strict Public Health England guidelines. They will only be able to pack the boxes if fit and well and are not displaying ANY cold / flu-like symptoms. Hand sanitiser will be available, and they will be required to wear disposable gloves. As usual, hand washing will occur at regular intervals, but heightened precautions will be taken in this regard.

We will continue to distribute our Boxes of Kindness at the Seamoor Unit unless otherwise directed by the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. Any changes to distribution will be shared accordingly.

If you are a patient at the Seamoor Unit undergoing your first Chemotherapy session and you do not receive a box, then please do contact us by email at info@chemohero.com; or via social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and we will do our very best to ensure you receive a box.

Also, during this challenging time, we are aware that patients and their families/friends will be extremely anxious and under added pressure. If you require any additional support, then please do get in touch and we will do our best to help and signpost you to support services.

The health and wellbeing of cancer patients and their family and friends are paramount, and we hope you will understand the above measures being put in place by ChemoHero.
